Knox Tech
Communications guidelines & disclaimers
Knox Tech’s official channels—chat server, email list, and event pages—exist to support the meetup’s mission: connecting practitioners around applied technology in Knox County. These are shared, semi-public spaces. The guidelines below keep them useful for everyone.
What belongs here
- Technical discussion tied to real work: implementations, tools, problems, wins, and lessons learned.
- Meetup logistics, topic proposals, lightning-talk ideas, and follow-ups from past sessions.
- Introductions and professional networking among members.
- Relevant local opportunities (jobs, internships, collaborations) shared in good faith.
What doesn’t
- Excessive sales pitches or vendor promotion. Sponsors and consultants are welcome as participants—contribution over promotion.
- Pornographic, sexually explicit, or graphically violent content.
- Harassment, personal attacks, or language that would be out of place in a professional setting.
- Off-topic debate.
- Automated posting, link-drops, or anything that looks like spam.
